Coming from the UK with my family I booked this restaurant through messenger to ensure it’s open on Easter Saturday . When we arrived the host at the door asked for our reservation but before taking us to the table another family came in who...he seemed to know) so he rudely kept us waiting while he sat them down . Then as we sat two other people came to ask us if we have reserved a table. Then the order of two other tables was taken although they came in after us and we were kept waiting . By then We were all put in a bad mood. Funny enough when we came to order, the waiter who was lovely and friendly) for some reason assumed that we are ordering mezza only and no main dish and told me it is a minimum of 3 dishes per person! I am not sure what gave him this impression! The food however is excellent and as good as any 5 stars restaurant you go to in Beirut. It’s a shame that our dinner was spoilt by bad customer service and lack of respect for the guests.
We had a table for 5 people to celebrate my sisters 18th birthday. 3 of us had a mixed mezze package which came with tapas like dishes and flatbreads it was amazing. The “taboulé” “hummus” and “falafel” were particular favourites of mine but the...rest was also incredible. My brother had a mixed grill and my sister who is 10 (and usually a fussy eater) had the chicken kebab. She absolutely loved it and they both cleared their plates and then helped us with our dishes as well. The staff were very accommodating, not that chatty but with Covid and having to wear masks indoors it’s not as easy as things were pre Covid. So over all good service, fabulous food and would highly recommend!
As often in Lebanese or Turkish restaurants I expected to be able to largely compensate for not eating meat with a varied and flavourful vegetable cuisine thanks to spices and herbs, it was nothing. vegetarians, vegans, kept on, all dishes contain meat, so you have to slaughter on the mezze, and when I came the choice was greatly limited because there was nothing more, so I was obliged to slaughter myself on an oriental salad, to understand some leaves of salad drowned in lemon juice and parsley in a tiny ramequin.
I've been told by the best Lebanese burglar. very good food, plan to be very hungry, and a good budget!
