Taka Mediterranean And Grill

We had a reservation for a table for seven at 5:00 PM outside. When we arrived, the staff seemed surprisingly taken aback to see us but quickly arranged a table for us on the deck overlooking the harbor. The views were beautiful, but the restaurant had a worn, wharf-style atmosphere that felt a bit run-down. The windows were streaked, the decor was uninspired, and it didn't seem particularly clean. Given the menu and the high prices, I was expecting a more polished dining experience. My daughter enjoyed the appetizer sampler platter, but my husband and I were not impressed with the chicken kabob dinners. The meat seemed to be ground up with what appeared to be veggies and heavy spices, presented as chunky square logs rather than on skewers. The flavors were off for me, and I couldn’t quite put my finger on why. I think the rest of our group was okay with their meals, but nobody was really wowed. We also had to wait quite a while to place our orders, though the food came out quickly afterward. The guitar player/singer was amplified and seemed to get louder as we sat there. I understand that restaurants are facing many challenges right now, and I don’t mean to be harsh—just honest about our experience. I wish we had chosen a different place for our celebration dinner.

The service was absolutely dreadful. It took two hours for us to receive our food. This place feels like a total tourist trap; I would recommend dining at a different restaurant in Maine. I even pleaded for mac and cheese for my 9-year-old, and it still took two hours to arrive.

Food was delish, staff was great! Our waitress was adorable! Loved the whole evening!

Once again, another great dining experience! The view, the staff and the food.... perfection!! We love this place!
