Visited over Christmas and was surprised how quiet it was. Friendly staff and good service. Saw no sign of catering. We were going to return after our visit to a local restaurant around 2300hrs and was surprised to find it closed on a Saturday night. Good old style pub. Check opening hours Price per person: €20–30

We had a terrible time here. We came as a local group who had been out at an early lunch across the road. From the second we walked in we felt extremely unwelcome and uncomfortable. The bartender looked at us like we shouldn’t be there. They proceeded to be so rude to us to the point that we felt obliged to leave. We came to the conclusion that the staff are misogynists. Pleas improve your business. It’s pathetic. Service: 1

My teenage daughter had the courtesy to ask at Goggins if she could use the bathroom on her way to a Christmas service at the church next door. She was bluntly told no, and obliged to buy a drink. So much for asking rather than just waling in. Apparently Goggins has a reputation for poor service, even rudeness, such a shame as Monstown village is friendly with a nice Community vibe. (Cue self-righteous response from owners, referencing the charming Toilets For Customers Only!! signs that feature heavily in the décor ...
