Honestly, I have wracked my brain to really try and give this place at least 2 , but I just can't bring myself to do it. Let's start at the beginning. When we first arrived, we were told the wait was about 15 minutes. With nowhere to sit, we stood by the door and waited. 45 MINUTES LATER, we were finally seated at a table. From the door, we could not tell that there were no less than six empty tables, all cleaned and waiting for customers. This was enough to start my rethinking of the restaurant in the first place. However, we figured that if we waited so long, and the food was excellent, then that would be fine. It wasn't excellent. More on that in a minute. One of the first things that we noticed was there were two or three waiters and waitresses doing their jobs. The others were either on their phones, or standing around, twiddling their thumbs. We did receive our drinks pretty quickly, but that is about the only good thing I can say about this place. When we ordered, it was another 30 minutes before we received our food. My burger was incomplete, the mac cheese was not hot, and #SuperHubs did not receive his bread nor did he receive an explanation as to why. When he asked about it about five minutes later, he was told that they were out of it, and they were in the process of making some. It would've been nice to know that in the beginning. After an hour and a half of being in this restaurant, I can safely say that we will never go back, and we will strongly discourage anyone else from going there. On another bad note, #SuperHubs said there were no paper towels in the restroom. I believe some of these lazy waiters and waitresses could have done something about that. I do not usually give one reviews, but there was no other option in this case. I sincerely hope they read this review and straighten things out.

I've been here before and it was really good BBQ. My most recent visit was on a Monday evening. Don't go on Mondays apparently. There was a home football game the weekend prior and wiped them out. They had no French fries, no ochra among other things. I did get the pulled pork sandwich with a side of green beans. The flavor was good but both were lukewarm. The beans were really greasy too. As I said I've been in the past and it was good but this visit was a disappointment.

Food is kinda pricey in my opinion. And I think our waitress was having a off night as she didn't come to our table much. And the place wasn't to busy. We had to ask another waiter for refills once. The quality and taste were good. I got the loaded baked potatoes with smoked brisket inside. They were put of fried oakra so fries and white mac cheese were my choice. But tasted great! Picture is with this post to show. The amount/portion size were good for the price of $11.99. My son gma in-law got burgers loved. It. My daughter which is a child got the kids chicken tender meal. They were on the small side and only 4 of them. Needless to say they won't enough. Wife got the ruben sandwich and she had to get a box to due to she couldn't finish it. If your looking for some good smoked food in Boone NC try this place. Just remember the meals are a wee bit on the costly side.

Unfortunately I would have love to give this restaurant a 5 star but I could not due to management being poor. Food was great for the little they had. I completely get their style of a restaurant on how they cook a certain amount and when they run it’s out. But not how it was handled. The waitress.was amazing she did everything she could to make it better. At one point I asked for the manger and he told the waitress that he had to run an errand. Worst part is we saw himSeat at his own bar and never come and see us knowing we had multiple issues he could have easily fixed or talk to us and make us feel different about the situation. Overall food had great flavor poor management.
