Bidrage med feedbackNot a fan! I was excited about eating here since I had heard great things, but after eating here I don’t see what the hype is about. Luckily we got there early so there was no wait. The waitress obviously had not worked in food service very long because she never brought a refill, never even asked if the food was good. My friend was able to flag her down to ask for a piece of dark meat chicken and she brought 2 pieces of white chicken back….smh. The food was edible, bot good or bad, just basic. My real issue is, they charge $23 a person but don’t let you take the leftovers. Oh wait, you can take it in a paper bag….WTH? I literally ate 2 bites of chicken, a spoonful of corn, mashed potatoes and 1/2 ham biscuit. Other than asking for a piece of dark meat (which we never got) we didn’t get more if anything but we aren’t allowed to take what we just paid over $50 for? I get it if someone eats everything that is brought, ask for more, then wants to go containers but we didn’t. When paying I see takeout and when I asked I was told $13 I get a huge plate. If I ever crave mediocre southern cooking while in Boone I will just order takeout.
Drove to the mountains and decided to have lunch here. Haven't been in a very long time. It was a great family place to eat! Food was served family style. All you can eat. They bring the full menu out to the table and you can refill whatever you want. Even comes with a choice of desert. Reminded me of being at my grandma's table. Food was fresh and tasty. Love it very much.
Excellent food. Served family style all-U- can eat. Best coffee I've had. Wheelchair friendly, no problems in, or out, or being sat at a table. It's a 2 hour ride for my family, so it is a special occasion type of thing when we visit, but always worth that beautiful, scenic ride. Give it a whirl, you won't be sorry.
Food is always delicious! I have fond memories of gettting the breakfast at Dan’l Boone Inn and decided to get their lunch on my 20th birthday, service was wonderful and almost all of the plates can be refilled if you need!
I was encouraged to visit here for my Birthday celebration. It was an excellent recommendation. It's about an hours drive from where I was staying. Forrest took excellent care of me and was cordial, professional and effective all rolled into one. A very sincere and considerate young man. All the staff I encountered were very good. Food was homestyle comfort food served family style. I'm not sure the food could be better. Though two southern ham biscuits were plenty for me the waiter in the adjoining section kept repeating you could not get refills on the ham biscuits. That sounds like an odd statement at a family style restaurant. But it's their place and they make the rules. I'm sure someone has abused their generosity in the past. As they are known for ham biscuits it just makes you scratch your head. One other inconvenience is they do not accept credit or debit cards but will accept personal checks and cash.
