Bidrage med feedbackThe food here was very good simple Italian. However, to charge 8 euros 50 for a .75 L bottle of water is outrageous. We chose the house wine from 2 reds priced at 10.50 per litre, but were asked if we would prefer a Primitivo....We said yes, this was still carafe wine, no price was quoted, but we were charged 16.50 euros for a half litre. We were then told that we could not pay by debit card because there was no phone connection . The whole experience made us angry and we hope other diners will be warned by our very unsatisfactory experience.
I normally restrain from giving such feedback but after my last night's experience I couldn't hold myself. Came for dinner at 7pm, Resto was full and as we had business dinner my expectation was we would be well taken care of. However staff was only...3 people attending to a fully booked place, minimal attention to detail (we had to constantly ask for more water rather than being served proactively), appetizers came at 9 pm (2 hours later) and can only recommend the carpaccio (which some colleagues had). The bruschetta was too oily, salad was tasteless. For the main course I ordered pasta scampi which had 2 and 1/2 scampis à bowl of salty tomato pasta. Instead of parmesan cheese I was served normal grated cheese. Pizza fruiti di mare, ordered by some, looked ok but again few pieces of fish/2 seafood elements. My advice: better stay hungry than going there! There are great Italian places in Bonn but this is clearly a place not worth a visit
If you enjoy Italian food, then this a good option in Bonn. Extensive menu with pasta definitely their best fare. Competent and friendly service. I have eaten here many times and keep on returning. Only downside is the rather small wine list.
Typical german italian restaurant, if you are not in the area of the Maritim hotel it is not worth the journey from downtown. They put rocket salad and aceto balsamico everywhere, even on the pasta with pesto... don't ask me why... I know, I'm italian...and should not go to italian restaurants abroad, but around the hotel the options are very limited (chinese or italian) and I'm vegetarian...
I have been staying at the Maritim Hotel and this is one of the painfully few (perhaps only? restaurant within walking distance of the hotel. Though I was dining solo and am not a German speaker, the waitress seated me at a nice table with good...light (so I could read my book . Though it is a local place with no English menu, the waitress was kind enough to help me with some words I didn 't understand. I had veal, pasta with calimari (er, I mean tinkelfish and the panna cotta all quite good. This is not intended to be a fine dining experience but rather a friendly, comfortable place to have a nice meal. They also serve draft beer (a very tasty Kolsch and reasonably priced wine. I 'll be back!
