Pizzeria Zia Catari - BOLOGNA

Stumbled onto this place after a Bologna/Juventus game because it's a short walk from stadium. It's a local hang-out with delicious pizza, pasta and wine. Very authentic and not touristy at all. Very kind and friendly wait staff and owners. Really enjoyed the visit. You should go here if you can.

We went there on a busy evening but service was fine, food is quite delicious, prices are reasonable.

My wife and I stayed in Bologna for two nights, staying at the Hotel Suite Elite, and as we had been to Bologna before and eaten at the Nonna Rosa and enjoyed the food very much we wanted to eat there again. Unfortunately the hotel receptionist at the Suite Hotel Elite where we were staying did not book a table for us. We went to the Nonna Rosa to see if we could get a table. However, it was fully booked. The owner of the Nonna Rosa recommended the Zia Catari, a couple of streets away and we decided to try it. When we entered the Zia Catari we found that the place was empty and wondered if we had made a mistake. However, after we had been seated a few minutes the place started to fill up. A large party of locals, with three generation of families, came in and the atmosphere became very lively. None of the staff spoke English, but we managed to make ourselves understood. We both ordered starters and main courses, thinking the starters would be small, but they were more like main meal sizes. The main course pizzas were also very large. We also had a single desert between us as we could not manage one each. The food was very good and the service was also good, being attentive, but not intrusive. We had a bottle of Merlot with the food and at the end of the meal the owner came over with complimentary glasses of liqueurs. As we showed that we appreciated the liqueurs, he came over with glasses of another liqueur. The three course meal with wine came to a very reasonable 54 Euros. We had a great evening. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was nice and welcoming and it was nice to enjoy a typical local evening out. We would recommend this restaurant to anybody staying at the Suite Hotel Elite as it is just a few streets away.

La pizza come il prezzo vale la pena. Assolutamente da provare.
