Dong Kinh - Böblingen

When this place appeared on Deliveryando, my wife and I were very excited as we simply love Thai food. This place had a section on the menu that was especially Thai. I was confident that hot German meant hot, which is not very hot. Unfortunately, there was no possibility to request more heat on the line. I started with the soup and tried something else. I chose the Tom Kha Gung (Sharf), which is like Tom Yam Gung, made with shrimps but with coconut milk. It should also be quite spicy, but it lacked the heat I'm used to. Nevertheless, it was very tasty with a decent amount of shrimp. The two main dishes we ordered were the Gang Pad Ped (Sharf), which is a spicy duck with red curry. I've become a duck fan here. The second dish we ordered was the Thai Hummerkrabbben with red curry (sharp), which is Thai shrimp in red curry sauce. Again, both dishes were very good with lots of ducks and shrimps and vegetables as you can see on the photos. But there was no kick we were looking for. Nevertheless, I would order from here again. I didn't like it said the food would be delivered in 45 minutes and then when I paid it jumped to an hour and ten minutes. That caught me from the guard. Nevertheless, the order was error-free and delivered by a friendly professional.

Great sushi (and I'm picky), very good service. They do speak English and have English menu's as well. Just make sure you either have euro's or a European style credit/debit card (the kind with the chip) otherwise there is a bank across the street with an ATM inside.

This is my third review of Dong Kinh. I consistently gave it four. While it is very good Thai food, no matter how sharp I ask, they serve it less and less than desired. The curries are delicious. The two my wife and I really like the chicken in red or green curry or the fish in red curry. This was a wonderful surprise as it was slightly baked and tenderly roasted. I always get the Tom Kha Gai soup, which is a lot enough for two. I was a bit disappointed by the duck when it was a bit cheesy. The one I would not recommend to get is the Horenso Gomaae. This is a spinach salad in a peanut sauce. While delicious, the spinach was too thick and hard to cut. Al in all, this place offers decent Thai food in generous portions at a decent price. Taht, you can count on!
