Bidrage med feedbackI understand the service here can be lacking, but this was by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. The sushi was decent, although it seemed like they were only replacing it once the less desirable items were taken off the boats. A significant portion of the sushi offered was shrimp tempura rolls with cream cheese, which was disappointing. I initially rated the sushi a 4 for taste, but after getting sick the next day as I write this, my rating dropped to a 1. The experience left me with severe stomach issues, which is unfortunate. The restaurant felt completely disorganized and in need of a manager to guide a staff that clearly had no idea what was going on. Just as we were about to leave, someone finally asked if we needed more water. This was the first time we were approached for assistance after being seated and throughout our meal. We asked multiple times for plates, cups, and utensils, yet they took 45 minutes to bring them after we had already finished eating. What’s the point? We had to make our own plates and were never given any soy sauce dishes or napkins. Overall, it was a dreadful birthday experience, and I won’t be returning. Although the sushi was initially enjoyable, it caused me to feel unwell later. The ambiance was nice and trendy, but the poor service completely overshadowed that. We typically leave a tip of over 20%, at least 15%, but in this case, I wouldn’t have tipped at all if I were paying the bill. I’ve never walked away without leaving a tip before. It’s frustrating when a restaurant opens but isn’t ready to serve customers properly. This is why so many establishments fail. Ninja Sushi is a prime example of this. I’ll be warning others against dining here. The only redeeming quality was the cool atmosphere, but that quickly soured after repeatedly asking for basic service. Even the busboys were bringing me water that the waitstaff neglected to provide. Additionally, they have a full bar but no bartender, which means no drinks are available. Incredible! Ultimately, this all comes down to poor management. The owner should consider closing up shop while there’s still time. My first impression was already concerning when I walked in the back and saw an employee in a ninja t-shirt give me a hostile look. I wanted to enjoy my birthday with some sushi, but it was so unappealing that we ended up going to Mizner for ice cream instead.
I also tried their seafood pancake, and the portion size was rather small. The batter felt slightly undercooked, while the outside was nice and crispy. It seemed like they rushed the cooking at high heat because, although the edges were almost burnt, the inside remained mushy and runny. On a positive note, they do offer a small sake for checking in on Yelp!
The Ninja Spinning Sushi Bar has undergone a significant expansion by incorporating Kenpai, making it a much larger venue. However, following this expansion, the prices seem to have increased, and the selection of happy hour items has decreased. The service is friendly; both the waitstaff and the waiters frequently check in to see how we’re doing. The waitress took the time to thoroughly explain the rolls and drinks available. Each time we visit, the quality of the food is outstanding, and it’s clear that they maintain high standards. The dishes are beautifully presented, featuring a variety of unique rolls that you won’t typically find at a standard Japanese restaurant, adding a modern twist to the experience. This is definitely a great spot to take friends when they are in town.
I visited this restaurant for lunch and found it to be relatively quiet inside, but the service was just average. Unfortunately, the spinning sushi bar was closed, so I ordered from the menu instead. I chose the M% F Roll, which featured shrimp tempura, asparagus, avocado, and was topped with tuna, tempura flakes, and roe. The sushi was quite tasty and came in a generous portion. While this isn't the best sushi restaurant I've tried, it's certainly not the worst either. However, I might hesitate to return during the day due to an unpleasant smell resembling wet dog. It seems Ninja Sushi is located next to a dog grooming salon, and that odor had made its way into the restaurant, which was not very inviting.
Really like this place because of the moving bar. It's perfect for people who are unfamiliar with sushi going for the first time, because they can see the dishes before deciding whether or not to get it. The happy hour is great too with $3 plates and 2 for 1 drinks between 4:30 and 7:00 pm...I think there's a late night happy hour as well, but they don't serve as much food then. Came here a couple times mainly for happy hour. They have a decent assortment of alcohol. Happy hour plates don't have the most variety, but you can always order from the regular menu if you want something specific. I'm a huge fan of sashimi, but I notice that during happy hour, I haven't seen much white fish go out...mostly just salmon and tuna. Not much eel on the rotating boats either. The bang bang shrimp was really good. Next time I want to try the chicken skewers and some tempura.
