Savannah's Oyster House - BLOWING ROCK

We have eaten here , around New Years, for the past 3 yrs., has always been good service and food. However, this time the service was horrible. We sat at the bar, and waited several minutes for someone to take our drink orders, yes they were very busy so we understood. After we got our drinks, we ask for a menu to order food. We were told by a very rude employee that since we came in and sat at the bar that it would be 30 minutes before someone could take our food orders. We drank our drinks and left without ordering any food. Sad to see this establishment “go down hill” as we have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere

There was no wait and there was only a couple of patrons eating during the lunch(that was a good thing b/ we were hungry). My wife ordered shrimp and grits, and I ordered a oyster po boy.It took a while to get our food, but we didn't complain b/c we had our drinks and appetizers (hush puppies). Sadly to say, both dishes came out very cold. My wife's dish came out first (cold), and mine came out a few later and just as cold. Fries were cold and so were the oysters on the sandwich.We canceled the order and left. Definitely disappointed

This place was great. High booths so with Covid you are not on top of each other. Food was great, very casual. We would eat here again the next time in Blowing Rock.

One of the absolute worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. Crab Cakes were sour and tasted like they had been prepped last month, Cajun Alfredo was served topped with hair, the Jambalaya gave me near instantaneous food poisoning, and they choose to cut corners and cost by ordering and serving shrimp that is not deveined. Our waitress was very much new, which can be excused, but allowing people to wait tables without even a small amount of training or supervision is irresponsible. The restaurant manager, if there even is one, is completely unaware of what is happening in the restaurant or just doesn’t care. If there was a manager on duty at the time of our visit, given how many dishes were ill prepared, and never approaching our table, they made it very apparent that they are under qualified for their position. I will be telling all friends and family to avoid this establishment. If I could give it zero stars I would.

We chose the oyster this past Friday after we got in to town. Everything was swamped! Olivia was working the bar and the dining room single-handed. We were hesitant but gave it a try. She handled the people like it was nothing. She was kind, methodical in her approach to taking orders and covering the bar and she never got flustered. Her calm managed to get the food out fast and we wanted for nothing! The food was excellent. We had grilled oysters, crabcake sandwich and fried oyster sandwich. The kitchen did amazing!! I would say, don't hesitate to eat if it's just Olivia, she's got ya! We would definitely eat here again! Hope they hold on to her!
