Maharaja - Blenheim

The Indian food here is excellent. We ordered a mixed appetizer platter, butter chicken, and garlic naan, and there was so much food that we couldn’t finish it all. They also have a good selection of wine. I recommend opting for the medium or spicy dishes, as the mild version was quite bland. Overall, it was still very delicious!

I ordered a Lamb Vindaloo with a spicy kick, while my wife opted for a Beef Rogan Josh at medium spice, along with garlic naan for the table. The food arrived relatively quickly, but to be honest, it was somewhat disappointing. The naan was decent, but the Lamb Vindaloo was rather bland and not spicy at all. My wife's Rogan Josh also fell flat in terms of flavor. It seemed like the dishes were lightly spiced, which is the opposite of what you expect from Indian cuisine. Additionally, the prices felt a bit steep for what we received. While I have plans to visit Blenheim again for work, I probably won’t be returning to this restaurant often. I would give it three stars, but it really feels more like 2.5 stars.

Very good, reasonably priced Indian. Definitely very mild heat levels (request hot if you want medium heat) but overall great food, ambience service. Tast garlic naan, Saag chicken $17.50 chana masala $15. Wide offering of local wines, and Renaissance beer on tap.

Chana Masala (mild) and Chicken Curry (medium) were both spiced perfectly and super tasty. *Great* garlic naan. House Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot were both nice, as well.

This charming and stylish bistro in the heart of Blenheim is sure to surprise and delight with its beautifully presented and delicious food, served with a pleasant touch. Make sure to try the lamb Rendang, but be cautious not to make it too spicy!
