The Black Olive - Blackburn with Darwen

I am embarrassed to say that I have lived just five minutes away from Black Olive for a year, but only recently visited for breakfast. I returned a few days later for a breakfast muffin and told the friendly staff that it was better than McDonald's because, honestly, it is (and I really enjoy a McMuffin). Overall, I have been extremely satisfied with both visits in terms of service and food, and plan to become a more regular customer.

The food at the Black Olive was delicious and reasonably priced, offering good value for money. There were plenty of options to choose from as well. However, it was disappointing to see that the restaurant did not enforce mask-wearing or hand sanitizing for customers, despite the note on the door. We observed two people entering without using the sanitizer or wearing a face mask, which was concerning. Based on this, we would not choose to dine at this establishment again.

Wow ... fresh quality food and all at an amazing price. A great menu and friendly staff to boot ... try it ... you won't be disappointed

Visited for lunch today. The food was nice but the service wasn’t so good. We first went inside to order food but the lady said she would come out to us, which was fine. More customers then walked in so we were put to the back of the queue before we could be served as there was only 1 lady serving. We ordered 2 coffees and 3 sandwiches, one with a soup. It took about 10/15 minutes for the drinks to arrive and then a further 15/20 minutes for the food. This could be a lovely little place to eat, just let down by the service.

Been in a few times for there cake's and cake jars. They were the best we have tried,we have not been in since Oct. We went in the other day and they don't seem the same, the buttercream use to be amazing but now there a bit dull.Still nice but don't think I will be going back any time soon. It seem's like they have changed there staff. Bring back whoever use to do them.They were amazing
