Bidrage med feedbackFood 3.0, Service 4, Ambiance 2.8 This review is NOT intended to destroy this business. This restaurant serves it 's purpose with low prices and a 1970 's food menu. Even the walls and ceilings had the cheap 1970 's wood paneling. Yes...the ceiling too. I have to admit that the restaurant was cleaner than what you would expect with this type of decor. To be honest, it was like a time warp going back to when I was a teenager going to dinner with my parents. I had a 12oz Ribeye dinner. The Ribeye was definitely frozen and then recently thawed. There was no taste at all...it was simply on the plate. Now, I understood why the waiter brought A1 and Heinz 57 sauce before the steak came out. Yes, I tried both to add flavor to the steak. It didn 't help much! The baked potato was cooked perfect but was a little small. It was definitely the highlight on my plate. The dinner came with Cole Slaw and marble sized hush puppies. The Cole Slaw was served in a small plastic cup sitting on the plate. The taste was ok but was a little watery. The hushpuppies were perfectly round like a marble, so I am sure they weren 't homemade. They were cooked perfectly but the taste was what you expect for hushpuppies. My wife 's plate had two Flounder filets with a large pile of frozen and breaded baby (cocktail shrimp) and frozen crinkle cut fries. She said the fish was good but only ate a few shrimp. Again...nothing to write about. To end...if you are an older senior citizen and want to remember the typical 1970 's inexpensive no frills restaurant then this is your place.
Good place. Nice servers. Good salads. Coconut shrimp are wonderful with a sweet sauce. I'll go back again.
Bad. My food was wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overcooked and there was a bug in our salads CHECK YOUR SALADS FOOD SUCKS.
I visited this restaurant today while traveling. I ordered a three piece catfish dinner with green beans, coleslaw, and hush puppies. The fish was evenly seasoned with salt and pepper; the green beans were seasoned, tender, and not drowned in onions. The coleslaw was delicious, I could have eaten a second serving of both sides. I would have preferred for my green beans to be packaged in a styrofoam or plastic cup instead of foil. Regardless of the foil, I enjoyed my entire meal without leaving a crumb uneaten...Overall, the menu prices were reasonable, and I did not have to wait a long time for my food. I will return again soon to order a steak
Best seafood in black Mountain. Every time we visit my mom and brother we order. Great food always hot and fresh. I have NEVER been disappointed. 5 stars for the Coach House
