Bidrage med feedbackThe restaurant had just one vegan option available—a hot dog served with fries. I inquired about vegan sauces for the fries, but the cook seemed unsure, which made me a bit hesitant about the vegan hot dog. It was clearly a vegetarian sausage topped with mustard, but I got the impression that they weren't entirely sure about vegan dietary restrictions. Additionally, the staff appeared a bit indifferent and not very friendly.
This is a fantastic American diner with friendly staff. I tried the vegan hot dogs with fries, which were fine—likely one of the few vegan options available. It's a wonderful stop for travelers in search of a satisfying vegan meal. While it's not the cheapest option, it also isn't excessively priced. Updated from my previous review on August 25, 2022.
We weren't sure we'd discover more than just toast or fries on the menu, but my boyfriend ordered the vegan hotdog with fries and really liked it. They also offered a falafel and spinach burger, which you could have without mayo. There were several more vegetarian options available, including cheese toasties and more.
Karam's Restaurant is the best spot for delicious Halal food. I really appreciate how fast the service is. The managers and staff are incredibly friendly and humble with their customers. They offer helpful discounts, especially for students and individuals. The cleanliness of the place is also a major plus. Highly recommended!
We entered here today while it sprinkled and grey and the streets all around were closed because of the world games. They were open, surprising, because there was hardly a soul, but I am so glad they were! We ordered hummus and a falafel sandwich. We were the only customers there just because, how bad the weather was and the streets were closed, but the people at the counter were nice. The food took a few minutes to get out, it's not fast food, but it was pretty fast. I felt nice to know they were back to make our food fresh - I could literally see the steam from the frit in the kitchen. The hummus was beautiful, creamy and rich in taste, possibly the best I ever had. The falafel sandwich was a regular size, but full and dense with ingredients. I only filled half of it and my friend had the other half. If you were very hungry, you could end one yourself, but it's a serious sandwich! It had fresh tomatoes and cucumber on it and the falafel was warm, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside - so good. Certainly ask for their spicy sauce and garlic sauce and put them both on your sandwich. It was delicious, I and my friend stuffed our faces and “mmh”ing and “oh my gosh”ing during the meal. Hands down the best Middle Eastern food and falafel in Birmingham, and definitely some of the best I ever had. The place is small and old school inside, it is not so much about the ambience, it is about the amazing food! We'll be back.
