Bidrage med feedbackIn the Mantovana countryside, it turns out to be a villa of authentic, elegant, cared for, but not pretentious beauty. The menu is varied, substantial, but with the possibility of tasty choices without being challenging (tasty and light the candle to the castellana). Wine and sweets of the house complete a balanced and rich lunch. If you add an enviable quality/price ratio, what to ask for more?
I was with wife and fathers in this beautiful court. A beautiful and spacious entrance, courtyard, with various buildings (not used) and in the background the construction of the 700, rustic estate outside and presumably renovated from not so much inside. Very nice rooms, airy, all with the fireplace, some fresco on the walls and several paintings. Lunch was pretty decent. The other commensali were visibly satisfied, I took a plate of Tuscan sausages (more than dignified) and a second (battle with grilled vegetables), tender and good, although perhaps it was too big, in fact I no longer had the space for dessert. That's okay. Next time maybe I try a first (more than other mantovani risottos).
I was in this farm for the August dinner and I was rather disappointed. The place is very nice and, having dinner outside, also pleasant. The service is kind, but long and improvised with very little experience. The appetizers served were passable without excelring with very poor cheese. The first presented: bigoli with shoddy sardines, tagliatelle replaced with bigoli without any warning. Our chicken served came from intensive farming of poor quality, roasted without any attempt to flavor it. The passable cut, but with portions decidedly to save. The sbrisolona to forget. The extremely dozen wine. The price (25 euro) was attractive, but as much as offered was too expensive. An experience I will hardly repeat.
I tried for the first time this farm for the dinner of Ferragosto, for which was proposed a fixed menu mantovano (in reality to choose from some alternatives) to 25 euros. The evening began well, because we sat outside next to a well-kept garden and, I must admit, not haunted with mosquitoes. The dinner was disappointing and in the long, constant descent. We started from an appetizer with lights and shadows, which gathered good meats, poor cheese and a series of tastes mantovani (mostarda, pike in sauce, frittata and chicken to gonzaghesca) not exceptional but sufficient. Among the first, the bigoli with sardines were shaken and in minimum quantity, the tagliatelle with the veal ragù were replaced by spaghetti, absolutely unsuitable combination. As seconds, the alternatives were a roasted chicken from intensive farming, totally out of place in a farm, and a cut a little hard and too cooked, even this in miserable quantity. To close, a bad sbrisolona or an industrial ice cream. The served wine was unused and of poor quality; it would have been more appreciated and consonant to the context a bottle of local lambrusco. The service, though kind and airy, has manifested a certain inexperience, with endless expectations between one course and the other, disorganization and forgetfulness. Too bad, because the place has a good potential; I don't think I'll recommend it.
Special environment, very welcoming and very well maintained outdoor place. Congratulations to the cook fabulous and particular dishes. fantastic also the possibility of buying products packaged by them with derivatives from their vegetable garden.
