Bidrage med feedbackFirst time dining there and overall it was a great experience.
The Elk stage was marvelous. Our server Chris was very attentive and made the dining experience even better
The food was amazing! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a nice meal in Big Sky.
The food quality, presentation, and flavor was outstanding. We arrived earlier than our reservation. The host seated us at a terrible table in front of kitchen (not the chef's table) when the restaurant was empty. When we inquired about a better table we were told that they were reserved and the table would not turn in time. “You can have your choice of seats at this table.” When we left three of the tables that we inquired about were still vacant. In spite of the distraction we had a good dining experience.
I am not sure where Block 3 gets their higher rating. Although our experience was not bad, it was not great so I put it in the middle. My 5oz. filet with the Scampi side and asparagus were all enjoyable. The cut of beef was nice, shrimp were good and my favorite was the grilled asparagus. My spouse does not consume beef so the menu was not very favorable to that and was limited. She had the rigatoni with the shrimp add. The rigatoni was over cooked but the shrimp were perfect. I ordered the Caesar salad which was good although the server never offered any ground pepper and there was not a shaker on the table. My spouse had the wedge which she enjoyed but again it would have been better with a pepper grind. One special item of note: My spouse ordered a specialty beverage that was not on the menu and the server and bar manager went out of the way, on their own, to find the ingredients in the kitchen, procured a recipe and NAILED it. As for the ambience, when you arrive and enter the restaurant, the low light makes it look warm and inviting but as you get seated (in the dining area) and adjust to the atmosphere, it ends up feeling like a restaurant attached to a Residence Inn which is what The Wilson is. As for the bar area and the ambience, we did not spend any time there. Overall a good experience but, probably not one of our “go to” restaurants in the area. Pricing? The steaks were over priced and the add for the shrimp Scampi for my steak is shown on the menu as $16 but I was charged $24. At $75 a ribeye, I would rather buy some USDA Prime at 4 or 5 to 1 in BZN or Ennis and grill at home.
