Restaurant Alpenrose - Bezirk Zuerich

Wir wurden sehr freundlich empfangen, unser Blumenstrauss wurde sofort eingestellt und bei uns in der Nähe wunderschön platziert, die Bedienung war stets aufmerksam, freundlich und leidenschaftlich bei der Arbeit, das Essen war ein Traum, das Ambiente auch und der Preis stimmte auch ganz und gar. Ein absolut perfekter Abend!

Die Alpenrose WAR unter der alten Führung das wunderbarste Restaurant von Zürich! Schade, dass die neuen Betreiber statt eines kreativen Neuanfangs nur einen schalen Abklatsch des Originals gewagt haben.Heute riskiert man, einen Kalbsbraten auf einem rosaroten (!) Teller serviert zu bekommen.

I accidentally dropped by into Alpenrose walking around. Situated in a corner not yet in the heart of the core it looked perfect for a quick dinner alone. Once got in, the sophisticated but welcoming atmosphere, the smile and the kindness of the staff, made me fell home. The menu is made of Swiss meals and local food. All the main courses are served with vegetables and other sides ( spatzli, bread...). I got a Troute and it was simply perfect. Nothing pretentious, good fish, good herbal toppings with no sauces, no wired stuff. Grilled fish and vegetables, exactly what I wanted. I'm gonna back asap ;)

Last year I learned Alpenrose had closed, only to learn it had reopened under new ownership this year. I wondered if this 2.0 version was as good as the original and booked a dinner reservation.The interior, which has the feel of a country inn, had been spruced up, giving it more charm. A bigger change was to the menu. Many items had changed, although Swiss cuisine was still the name of the game and it was now available in English.The meatloaf I had was very good and different from any that I've ever had in the states. The vegetables that came with it were less interesting, but fine. Dessert was fantastic as was the two wines, a white and red. Portions were filling, with prices moderate to high.While I didn't think the menu offering was as interesting as the original, I did think the service had come up another notch. A really friendly crew, who know how to take care of their guests. Alpenrose still packs them in, so I'd recommend making a reservation. If your using public transportation, Alpenrose is located near the Dammweg stop.Great to see this favorite restaurant of mine back.

Sehr freundliche, aufmerksame Bedienung; gutes Essen, allerdings bei eher kleiner (auch preislicher) Auswahl; empfiehlt sich für weitere Besuche!
