Bistro On 19th - Bessemer

We had a reservation for two but were asked to sit at a group table, even though I had not requested a group seating option when making the reservation. It would be helpful to have this option available for reservations so that guests are not surprised upon arrival. I did not want to sit with strangers on Valentine's Day! The service was very poor, as we waited at least 20-25 minutes before a waiter came to serve us, even after I had informed the staff at the bar. This was my first time dining at this restaurant and I was extremely disappointed. However, the food was excellent and the live band was fantastic. These were the only positive aspects of our experience.

Unfortunately, it was not a pleasant dining experience. It took over an hour from the time we placed our order to receive our food, and the quality did not justify the wait. The live band was good, but the volume was too loud. The service was the worst I have encountered in a while. I had high hopes for this place, but I would recommend saving your money and finding another option.

Taylor Pate's dinner at her mother's restaurant was fantastic. The only downside was a long and confusing wait for payment, as they only accepted cash or the Cash App. Reservations through OpenTable were not recognized by the restaurant. Despite the slow service, our server was friendly and helpful. The shrimp and grits with conecuh sausage were delicious, as was the fried catfish with creamy grits. The creamy grits were particularly outstanding. Unfortunately, there was a lack of attention from the staff, as no one checked on us or offered tea refills or dessert. The mimosas included in the $30 prix fixe menu were strong and enjoyable.

I absolutely loved the live band at the restaurant. The food was delicious, and the establishment was exceptionally clean and beautiful.

The food was tasty, but the service was incredibly poor. Both the waitress and the owner were unwelcoming, and there were numerous issues with ordering and billing that made the overall experience unpleasant.
