Le Carpe Diem - Besançon

Wonderful place great ambience. Very welcoming for our party of nine, we had booked. Although some of our group spoke French, menu was in both languages and all waiters spoke English. Food was excellent and good value. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Maybe a bit of a tourist trap.. we asked our hotel for recommendations and they suggested here but “it’s small so you need to book” which they did.. it is small (although there is an upstairs but you need to be downstairs) and it was full but all tourists like ourselves.. menu is quite extensive (always a worry) food was ok but a bit messy and the wine list is good and the overall pricing is very fair.. would we go back.. probably not.

My wife and I had a delightful dinner at Carpe Diem. The food was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. She had the ribs and I had the regional dish of beef soaked in beer. We would order both dishes again. We split the appetizer of duck rillette. Go if you have a chance.

Between colleagues on the day of the Beaujolais, the dishes were good, copied, and all at a very correct price. good selection of wines and beers, good service, fresh products. What more?
