El Mezquite - Bernal

Stopped by for breakfast. The view of the Pena is great and the mesquite tree is beautiful. The food and coffee was regular.

Although the menu includes main typical Mexican food, the service is very slow. Last weekend I went with my family and the waiter forgot some of us to be served, he got confused with beverages and at the end the check was a complete mess. It is a pity because the restaurant is well located and the view to the Peña is magnificent!

The restaurant made a special reservation for us, as they were closed during our time of visit. The view whilst dining from the garden is absolutely amazing. The dishes were traditional and very well prepared (Stuffed chili with local cheeze, stuffed chili with pomegranate and the special sweet and spicy chicken). all in all one of the best places we've eaten during our trip!

When visiting Bernal, don’t waste time and go directly to El Mesquite for a relaxing venue and excellent food/drinks at a reasonable price. Menu is very complete and has a nice variety of Mexican cuisine with an interesting local touch. My congratulations to the chef on the choices and the way food is designed and prepared!!! I am sure you will enjoy!!!!

This place need some adult people to supervise the work of the many teens that are doing the table service. All, including waiters, and hosting are young teens and unfortunately lack of the know-how to perform a good service. I came before to this place, and the service was slow, but the food was ok. But this time the service was still slow, and the food was cold... Very disappointing because we started to trust this place, but now I think we’re going to seek other options in Bernal to eat.
