Bidrage med feedbackI found Caffee Litteraire one of the most interesting places in Bern on my short trip here. I say, try it. Good food, strong coffee, beautiful atmosphere, interesting people. My pictures show the place seen through my lenses. I chose a song, it matched my mood when visiting this amazing hidden gem: DIDO-Life to rent (the unplugged version).
This casual restaurant/café is located in the bookshop Stauffacher an der Neuengasse just minutes from Bern Main Station. It is just a few steps from the English section in the bookstore. What I love about it is the big salads. My youngest was a huge bowl of different kinds of greens from a large piece of smoked salmon. Mixed with the greens were beets, carrots, corn, red and green tomatoes, sprouts and more. You will be served a tray of toppings and dressings and you will add what you want. The café is definitely casual and not elegant, but it is a good place for a quick lunch, whether alone or with someone. There is a terrace that is pleasant on sunny days, but I avoid it because smoking is allowed there. It is also a good place for coffee and candy. Definitely the best place for an interesting salad dinner I found in Bern!
Very nice location in Stauffacher. Good food, fine cakes. Highly recommended if your loved ones are browsing
We were shouted at by the waiter in front of all the guests because I had put the teapot next to the coaster... I have often seen him annoyed and unfriendly. I'm not going there anymore.
If you want extremely rude staff making you feel unwelcome, almost insult you and serving you overpriced and bad coffee: this is the place for you! Never again. Pity that the location is quite nice, but absolutely not worth it.
