Pratirio - Berlin

We had a family meeting 10 people and chose this place based on good reviews. But it was really a bad choice. We were welcome and had a friendly contact with the waiters but it took 1 hour to get the starters and 1 additional hour to get main courses. We asked several times about the food and finally came a man identifying himself as the manager of the place. This "manager" was very impolite and stated with very bad manners that food was coming soon. Food was admittedly good but not cheap and could not balance the 2h waiting time plus unacceptable attitude of the manager. During the 2hours waiting time the waiters had not much work to do so we could only imagine that the real bottleneck was the kitchen which produced quite good food given enough time. For us no need to repeat being so many options in Chalottenburg district.

We went with a group and had Mezze as a starter. It wasn't much mezze: small plates, different nice tastes, but sober. Following we had meat but hardly vegetables which is estonishing for a Greek restaurant. It also was quite salty. Not the best I had till now in Berlin.

Restaurant is nice with OK staff. For similar restaurant in this area I think that it is overpriced. Not to mention that for a price of two or three their starters, you can have a complete meal in the near places.

We booked a table at this restaurant with a group of friends. We all used to live in Greece for a couple of years so this choice was a natural thing. Unfortunatelly, we were dissappoined after all as we were offered something that didn't meet our expectations and we felt... shafted. "Pratirio" is not a typical Greek restaurant. It's rather posh, elegant restaurant with white tableclothes rather than cosy beach taverna and hence incomparable with what you may meet while making holidays in sunny Hellas. But still.... The food was tasty and fine. However the portions were spare, really small and inadequate to the prices. Or rather in reverse. So, in order not to stay hungry for the rest of the evening we ordered additionally a steak. Just a steak. A waiter neither asked nor offered us any special sort of steak. After a while, grand, splendid steak landed on our table, it was Tomahawk steak. Our fine evening at the restaurant was definitely over when we were showed the bill. We all couldn't believe our eyses - the steak cost 85 eur!!! I guess it was the most expensive steak in Berlin that anybody ate this evening. Each of us is a frequent visitor at a number of really good, excuisitive restaurants in Berlin and the prices of best quality steaks were never higher than 40-45 eur. By making an order, we weren't informed by the staff about the price, such position didn't even exist in the menu, we were not warned we would get such a fine but at the same time pricy stuff. The staff were incompetent, didn't give us proper information and hence we felt sort of used and trapped. This situation has left a bitter taste in our mouths. Definitely, I will not come back and not recommend this restaurant to others.

Fast and friendly service. Food was awesome, as wine. I will definitely visit again on my next trip.
