Osteria Caruso - Berlin

Walkable from the Ritz and Potsdamer Platz but still a little out of the way so it has a ‘neighborhood gem’ kinda feel to it.

Busy trattoria, even on a Tuesday night, food was tasty and generous portions, service was attentive, bit surprised at the lack of a wine list but the wine recommended by the waiter was very acceptable and not over priced. I’d happily eat there again but I might share a pizza, they were huge.

This Italian restaurant is a few hundreds meters away from Potsdamer Platz. It is a typical ristorante. They have lots of pastas and pizzas and some other dishes too. Service was friendly. Atmosphere is also nice and relax. For some reason they asked me to...pay by cash?

I came here twice during Berlin Filmfest for a lunch with clients as it close to the Ritz. Service is pretty slow even, the food is very average and the prices are acceptable. The salad comes with a ready made dressing, the pasta is undercooked...and the sauces are rather flavourless. You can't pay with credit or debit cards and there is no such thing as a check back. If you are starving and in the area it's an option but not worth travelling for

Most places to eat at Potsdamer Platz are new, not so authentic, and somewhat pricey. But just 200 m away, In Köthener Strasse is this little gem, serving traditional Italian food, all the dishes you expect and the food is excellent. Try the Mezzelune...with Porchini, the vitello tonnato, spaghetti vongole, or what you prefer. Wine list is short, but ok, all bottles between €24 and 28. This was my 4th visit in 13 months, and I will be back...
