Bidrage med feedbackWhat did you eat? enchiladas with spinach-shrimp filling, drilling and rice (about 8Euro). the rice was seasoned with curry, and the enchilada was completely desisted. there were drills that probably came from a dose. in general, these taste components did not fit together and did not seem mexican. what did they cost? cleanliness of toilets. what less? this food is not served at the same time, even if they are only two. is it clean? do you always have space? as there are small restaurants in the opposite, it can be very crowded at the weekends, so they don't get a space, although there are two large rooms, a separate smoking area and the possibility to sit outside. there is something very special that does not exist elsewhere?. no, there are comparable tex Mexican restaurants also in the city. which publikum do they meet here? younger people who mainly use the cocktailhappyhour (up to 21 o'clock). the cocktail prices are between 4 and 5 euro.
We came here for a Mexican dinner today. The service was really friendly and helpful. The selection of dishes was excellent. Especially their mole dishes were really interesting and surprisingly good for a European Mexican restaurant. All our dishes were delicious even though they were not necessarily traditional Mexican. We really enjoyed our stay!
If you think of this as a Mexican restaurant, and you 've ever tasted real Mexican food, you 're gonna be so disappointed. However, if you can pretend that you are in an OK place serving cuisine from a place you 've never heard of, you 'll probably get through it just fine, as it is quite edible. The best choice, and closest to the real thing, in this case TexMex, at our table, was the fajitas. There were loads of sauteed onions that were nicely caramelized, along with fresh mushrooms, tomato quarters, sliced red and yellow bell peppers and pieces of grilled, tender chicken served on a sizzling platter. See, pretty good. There were four of what were nothing like real tortillas but were adequate in size and texture to wrap the ingredients from the platter in. The biggest disappointments were the sauces and no amount of pretending could make them acceptable. And someone needs to tell them, because I forgot to, that although there is a place in Mexico called 'Tabasco, ' the sauce by that name, isn 't from there and doesn 't work for Mexican. If you are planning a trip to this restaurant, order the fajitas, and stop off at the supermarket for a bottle of real Mexican taco or enchilada sauce, or some hot sauce and salsa. Oh, and an avocado too because whatever was in the green sauce they called guacamole had never met that lovely fruit.
Before entering the restaurant we could see that there was a conservatory winter garden section which was fully occupied. We therefore sat in the main restaurant area, which with its high ceiling lacked a little atmosphere despite warm-coloured mexican-inspired decoration on the walls. We ordered the Tacos Dina (three crispy maize tortillas filled with chilli con carne, roast beef and strips of fried chicken with salad and rice) and Ensalada Centenario , a salad with fried chicken breast, guacamole, soft cheese, sweet corn and sour cream. Maybe the maize tortillas were crispy before they were covered in melted cheese, but they certainly weren 't afterwards. The fried chicken filling was fine, the chilli con carne filliing was somewhat dry, with more carne than chilli, but the roast beef was tough and had little taste. Despite several minutes ' chewing it could not be broken down in the mouth. The only options were to spit or swallow! Fortunately the pieces were quite small so I was able to swallow. The Centenario Ensalada however was much better. The salad and dips were good, as was the fried chicken. No complaints there at all. The service that we experienced was friendly and prompt. However, at the next table the group of three which ordered at the same time as us did not receive their food until we had finished our main course. If I had been them I would have been less than impressed. To sum up, we would go again in the hope that we were unlucky with the choice of the Tacos Dina. It was on the new dishes section of the menu, so maybe the chef is still practising...
