Alt-berliner Wirtshaus

Needed a restaurant near the Brandenburg Gate and found this gem. Just a short walk away with really friendly staff. We had the pork knuckle and the pork slices. They were big portion but were lovely. Highly recommend

We had fond memories of this lovely restaurant when we were last in Berlin and were delighted that it was still going strong 10 years later. As we only wanted a drink we were seated inside, it’s a lovely cosy traditional restaurant with checked table cloths and the drinks menu displayed on a large bottle on the table. The tables outside looked lovely, a good people watching spot. As we were a tiny bit peckish, we asked if they had any snacks, apparently only pubs do crisps etc, restaurants only serve meals, however our lovely waitress offered to do us a portion of chips, which were very welcome and hit the spot. Friendly welcoming service, had we had more time we definitely would have returned for a meal.

A delightful restaurant in a side street a matter of meters from the Brandenburg Gate. Delicious food and beer with ample outdoor seating. I would definitely return.

Very nice German pub with a great choice of food and drinks. The location close to the touristy area made it convenient and the pub was good value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful, gave us good recommendations and generally ensured that...we had a good experience.
