Braustuberl Berchtesgaden

My family visited berchtesgaden for 15 years at different times of the year. it is a breathtaking place and the landscape is spectacular. we have tried to visit this brewery for eating a few times and it is always closed or busy. this time it was open and so we were very excited to finally eat here. we know that the beer is excellent as we drink it all the time at these celebrations. Unfortunately, despite the large beer menu for the design of the beer there were only 2 beers. I can forgive this, but it was eating. we have eaten in so many large Bavarian restaurants in berchtesgaden in the run of the years that we expected this to be the same or even better. we were wrong. the service was good-fast and attentive, but there were several things not on the menu. We had a pork that was in order, but nothing like the price we paid for it. we then had 2 chicken dishes, which I could only compare with an American almost food place with the first kfc. it was so bad. the other court we had was kase spaetzle, which is a favorit for my family, but I honestly think that was only spaetzle and a few cheeses blown up and put into the microwave. we were disappointed in the belief. Moreover, it was one of the most expensive meals we had on our holiday. we were appalled. surely it will not come to visit again.

Fantastic authentic food, the schewinaxe is so delicate. I recommend the cursed strudel for the desert. was already many times before and will be back

The food in the restaurant was very typical Bavarian food with a great quality. The service was fast responsive even with a full restaurant.

Very atmospheric brew-house/restaurant with courtyard and garden seating if weather is fine. Needless to say the beer was excellent!! Staff were friendly and helpful, and an English menu is available if your German is lacking. Good selection of Bavarian fare, well prepared and portions are ample. Just what's neede after a long day hiking.

Nice garden atmosphere, with big picnic tables and oodles of beer and authentic Bavarian food. This is a place of big dumplings and lotsa pork! It's your quintessential beer garden experience, what's not to like? Plus the sign outside the buildings bills it as a brewery and church! gotta love it just for that.
