Bidrage med feedbackOverpriced small servings. OK taste, presentation of ordered goods poor. Listening skills for order poor. Delivery of ordered goods poor. Toilets filthy.
Thursday night I was in the unfortunate predicament of choosing Grill’d Benowa Gardens to grab a meal after a very long day. I was disgusted with the lack of measures taken to combat COVID19. I arrived and was handed 2 menus that had food spillage on them. When I asked about hand sanitiser I was told there was none and to go to the toilets where I could wash my hands. After getting my drink from the fridge (using a handle everyone else used) and completing my use of the dirty menu, I headed to the toilets. There was a sign on the main bathroom saying “Closed for Cleaning”. I had to use the unisex disability toilet. The sign on the door said it hadn’t been cleaned for 5 hours and when I went inside that was blatantly clear. Dirty floor, sink, mirror. I only wanted to wash my hands, which I did, but I couldn’t get out of the room without touching the handle everyone else touched and I was back in the original boat. No hand towels, just an air dryer is not sufficient!! To add to this ridiculous situation, the girl that brought our dinner order said the burger was beef not lamb as we ordered and then went back and checked the docket before coming back and correcting herself. Furthermore, the waitress did not bring our ordered rosé. We waited and about halfway through our meal I went and asked for it. The girl said she would check. I went back to the table. She then came over and asked if we wanted it now.... Um, hello we ordered it, paid for it, the guy serving asked his supervisor to provide it (he must be underage), we’ve eaten half our meal... Do we want it??? Where does common sense and professionalism come into play? The wine was brought, I asked who the supervisor on duty was. The girl went back and spoke to her supervisor who never batted an eyelid in our direction. The young bloke who served us came over and checked if everything was okay and I gave him feedback. Kudos to him. He handled my objections well, given he had no ability to remedy them. FYI To add insult to injury the Zen Hen burger had the peanut sauce on the bottom of the roll, baby spinach on top, then carrot, tomato, onion, and finally, the chicken. It was dry and I could barely taste the satay sauce. I have eaten this burger at the Robina store and it was scrumptious. The sauce was on the chicken. I wouldn’t pay $5 for the burger I ate last night. Based on the service, professionalism, hygiene and price. I will never eat at this store again and have no desire during the Covid19 pandemic to attend another Grill’d store. UPDATE to the franchise owner’s credit, he has contacted me by phone and email to reassure me they are attending to all this matters and as of today, Sunday, paper towel has been installed in the toilets and hourly cleaning of the facilities has been reinforced. I was also offered the opportunity to return to dine at his invitation.
Grill’d Benowa Gardens is consistently great and they are always smiling with great service. The menu is perfect for all tastes as well. Good value, fast service and best of all, healthy delicious food!
The big Queenslander is the go. Awesome burger. Great size. Mop it up with the juice from the burger and you will be totally satisfied.... they is the community give back that the store does and you can get a beer or wine. Always consistent
A group of 5 we found a table easily, had menus, went to counter and ordered. All meals delivered to table at the same time. We did have to ask for more knives, serviettes (essential) and water. The burgers were lovely, very filling. Chips a bit disappointing, the rosemary ones were delic, the sweet potato ones were burnt and the zucchini ones disappointing as they were all stuck together and the crumbs had fallen off. The dipping sauces were nice.
