Bidrage med feedbackThis hotel is currently (August 2023) temporarily closed and for sale normal that no one answers calls, well located but in a pretty rural area but very little touristy on the side of the road, we did not encounter any foreign plates apart from ours during our stay, surprising to see a hotel right there, this probably explains its closure in part.
The hotel is just 5 minutes away from the A6 motorway mid-way between Turin and Savona. There are roman ruins to be seen in the village centre beautiful Cuneo and Mondovi are just 20-30 minutes away. 20 minutes away is the vast shopping and factory outlets of Mondevicino. From the outside, the hotel is bordering on ugly and probably what only saves it are the stark industrial units that line the opposite side of the road. There is plentifu lparking outside the hotel, but there is the possability of secure parking in the underground carpark. However look are only skin deep. and inside the hotel is quite pleasant and some of the upper room enjoy rather nice views of the surrounding farmland. The staff I met were all charming and very helpful. I arrived on a Monday evening and unfortunately the pizzeria does not open on Mondays. As I was tired, I took the easy but costlier choice of staying put and eating from the Hotel Restaurant menu. I took advantage of the 25euro menu, which included 2 starters, I has Veal with Tuna sauce and a sort of spinach mousse with a cheese sauce. There followed a local type od small raviolli in broth. My main course was braised beef with carrots. I upgraded from a dessert to a generous selection of cheeses. The 25 Euros also included a glass of Dolcetto and coffee. The food was very competently cooked and very tasty, service was friendly. Unfortunately a large stark room with only 4 customers and a TV showing a popular evening Itallian tv show can never be enhanced into a fully enjoyable experience. The room was quite large with a big wardrobe and a decent bathroom. The free wifi , aircon, tv and fridge all worked well and made my stay enjoyable. The only real downside was the breakfast was not even close to good. Once again that huge stark room kills almost any posablity of privacy or an atmosphere, but a selection of tasteless juices and a platter of very tired looking ham and cheese with last nights left over bread stand no chance of making you want to stay another night. To be absolutely fair, there were some ok corneti, youghurts, jams and cereals and fruit to be had as well, but for me, Hotel breakfasts are great when they tempt you into having something nice that you probably do not always have at home. In summary, the Hotel is cheaply priced, but the rooms and the restaurant are actually very good value, whilst the breakfast remains as ... cheap.
We are dinner there 5 times during our stay. We enjoyed the food and the value was great. I really liked the pizza and calamari. The breading on the calamari had a nice flavor that I really liked.
Bvh is a slightly dated structure, but that a motivated property is bringing back to life rejuvenating. the rooms, although a little dated in the decor, are clean and spacious. the floor is tiled and there is no sign of the hateful carpet. large bathroom with every service. the shower box is standard in size so that the space is not so much, but, for our needs, it was more than good. very large and comfortable double bed. TV with adequate size and minibar at standard prices. the hotel is equipped with restaurant/pizzeria open to those who are not guests. Unfortunately during our stay the kitchen was firm because of the temporary unavailability of the cook (full covid19 period).) we have excellent pizzas with very good ingredients. idem for dessert. the breakfast was the strong part: quality meats and cheeses, homemade cakes or, however, baked and non-industrial products, high quality yogurt from a ditch farm. the staff is young and motivated. Although it was not a high season period (we were in January 2022) and therefore with little clientele we were greeted with enthusiasm even if we presented ourselves with a smart box (and sometimes it happens instead of feeling almost a mess.) the manager is a young manager with experiences in the hotel and in the organization of events that is trying to resuscitate a hotel that, from what we understood, until the end of last year was still. He's a very proactive and kind manager who knows how to manage guests. the boy at the reception (but who then gives a hand serves everywhere) really nice! really a structure that we did not expect and that we will keep in mind when we decide to return to these areas! recommended!
Was in order it was all there and personally great, over and over again
