Cafeteria Corola - Benalmádena

A few friends and I ate here one afternoon. We had heard about the place via friends and wanted to visit it. It is located right up high at the top of the town not far from the Carrefour supermarket just off the motorway, however you can't hear or see the motorway from the restaurant. It was quite a walk up the hill through the quaint narrow streets of the historic old town very pleasant surroundings and a good excuse to walk up away from the main town and seafront promenade. The view from this place is stunning you feel like you are at the top of the world looking down across the town below and out to sea. It is surprising to find such a panoramic view here and I had not been up above the main town area before. The restaurant has a very large outdoor area half the size of a tennis court, as well as sheltered and indoor seating. This is very much a locals place and there were 3 or 4 locals at the bar eating some snacks for lunch. They were very friendly and welcoming. The decor and furniture is very basic this is not a luxury place and that suited us just fine. The toilets were large, spotlessly clean and very fresh and modern well maintained. Not the usual small, smelly, tired and tatty toilets that are so often found in this area. We tried various tapas dishes we just asked them to bring a selection out as they were making it so it was really fresh. Everything was excellent very tasty. Being a local restaurant and not a tourist trap the prices were very reasonable and we all agreed it had been excellent value for money. It is well worth walking through the quaint streets and up the hill to this place for something refreshingly different from the usual offerings in this area and the views to die for We made friends with the locals in spite of a slight language barrier and they bought us a drink before we left. So we could not have been made to feel more welcome. This is my kind of place and I will be back very soon.

It is a family place, quiet, and with good prices. a friend recommended it and we went on Sunday that there is paella, it was very good and the dish is worth 4 euros. the rations also very good, and the friendly service, there is also a playground at the door and the kids have a great time.
