Absolutely beautiful. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The food was beautiful and the place itself is just lovely. I highly recommend this as a wedding venue. Brilliant

Lovely grounds, pleasant staff, room lovely, a bit tired but nice, food (what can I say) absolutely amazing, we had dinner on Saturday night had two courses, chicken liver parfait and salmon was fantastic, Steve had smoked salmon then steak, could not fault it was very tasty and plentiful.

We always felt that the day was entirely ours, and no concern was too big or too small to address—even if we thought it was a bit silly. Everyone took the time to listen and guide us whenever we had uncertainties. On the wedding day, I woke up feeling incredibly relaxed, thanks to Antonia. She had reassured me multiple times that it was her job to ensure everything ran smoothly and all I needed to do was relax and enjoy myself. It was a true gift to have someone working tirelessly behind the scenes, who understood my vision and made it all come to life. As for the venue, we chose the exclusive package, which included all the rooms, meals, some drinks, venue decorations, and evening entertainment. We found it to be a fantastic value. The food was great, and our guests raved about it—we received no complaints. The DJ was fantastic as well. All the rooms were spacious and comfortable, and our guests were thrilled. I highly recommend using Lenka from Ambience for event decorations. While some decor is included in the package, she looked at my Pinterest boards and helped us create beautiful additions that made the venue truly stunning. We got married in the outdoor ceremony area, which is a lovely space and felt very special. I feel like I’m gushing, but it genuinely was perfect. Many guests remarked on the friendly and relaxed atmosphere compared to other weddings they had attended, which often felt a bit chaotic. This was all thanks to the amazing work of everyone at the Makeney Hall Hotel. I cannot recommend the venue and the team enough, and I am incredibly grateful for everything they did for us, both in the lead-up to the wedding and on the big day itself. It was truly a wonderful experience!

Yesterday, July 10th, I had a wonderful dining experience with my two daughters. The food was absolutely delicious, featuring a fantastic selection of sandwiches and warm savory items, including mini quiches, sausage rolls, and creamy carrot soup. We also enjoyed a delightful assortment of cakes, such as brownies, lemon peach cake, macarons, lemon and olive oil cake, and scones, all accompanied by plenty of tea and jam. The staff were lovely—friendly and attentive. This place is definitely worth a visit!

We had a short getaway at the hotel earlier this month and were really impressed with our experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the food was excellent. There was a great selection for breakfast, with everything fresh and hot. For dinner, I highly recommend the steak—it was fantastic. Our room was very comfortable, and everything functioned perfectly, which was a nice bonus. The grounds were beautiful as well. Overall, it was a delightful short break!
