Lansdowne - Belfast

I’ll start with the good! Went for a catch up with friends, menu limited, but food was beautiful (sweet potato wedges are stunning , atmosphere cosy and pleasant, the guy serving the drinks to the table was so friendly and a good laugh! However, one member of staff let the whole place down which is so sad. From the moment she sat us at the table, it was as if we were one big giant inconvenience. As soon as we sat “any drinks?” to which we asked for a drinks menu “we don’t have one”, “ehh not even a cocktail menu?” She got us a cocktail menu and stood over the table while we tried to read it and decide awkward. Every interaction with her after was just the same, awkward, miserable, unfriendly. yet the other staff were all funny, happy and pleasant (thank you! . The bill was then dumped on our table by the same staff member without even asking for it, we wanted another round of drinks and had to ask the friendly bar guy “are we ok to order another drink” confused as to why we felt we were being rushed out (still plenty of people in the restaurant . He let us know it was not a problem and happy to get us another round. As we chatted with our last drinks the miserable staff member came over with the card machine, with a not so subtle “pay your bill” again still plenty of people still in the restaurant. This just made all of us a little flustered and awkward and her general “why am I here attitude” unnecessary. If your going to work in hospitality be hospitable! For me this would really put me off going back to the restaurant, which is a shame as the food was decent and all the other staff pleasant and warm.

The worst experience I've ever had waited for aver an hour for the staff too take our order for drinks the food was the worst food I've ever had prawns were disgusting had the flank steak frites. Was absolutely disgusting tasted like I'd drank a bottle of vinegar they had marinated it in balsamic vinegar how any chef would think putting balsamic vinegar on steak would be palatable obviously doesn't have a clue what there doing .they really need to change there menu and get themselves a good restaurant manager . Needless to say I won't be going back for a meal and would not recommend to friends

The manager of this restaurant was extremely aggressive towards me, falsely accusing me of an incident with her staff and yelling at me. She even spat on me and refused to let me explain my side of the story. This was not the first time she had singled me out, and it seems to be because I am transgender. The staff at this restaurant are hateful and aggressive, and I have also experienced stalking by one of the members of staff who raped me. It is unacceptable for rapists, bullies, and homophobic/transphobic individuals to be employed in public places like this.

The restaurant has beautiful surroundings and serves delicious food. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions are huge. The staff is friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this place.

We were seated by the staff and placed our orders after having to ask the waiter to take them. The food took an hour to arrive, and most of the meals were cold. When I went to the restroom, the tap exploded and soaked my clothes. I complained about the tap and my drenched clothes to a female waiter, who laughed and asked which tap it was before walking away. We asked for the dessert menu but ultimately decided to leave. On our way out, my mother made a complaint to the staff, who denied that we had waited an hour for our food. Their attitudes were terrible, and it was clear that they had no idea how to handle a complaint. We definitely do not recommend this restaurant. It's a shame, as we usually never complain, but the rude staff and slow service at this establishment were unacceptable. We will not be returning.
