Foliepop’s - Bee Cave

Um Bonjour y 'all, this place is SO cute! I loved the interior-I think it 's a great date spot but also very family friendly with the little chalk board for kiddos. The dessert concept is very unique and fun. A crunchy cream filled ball that you pop on top of a tasty soft cake. You can choose one of the pre-selected combos or totally customize it yourself. I got this heavenly red velvet shake creation, a cookie dough lil cake, a chocolate lil cake, and my absolute fav the Texas cake! They were all delicious but I will definitely order more of these sea salt/caramel Texas cakes for some UT events. There was also a really cute glossy red lip dessert that caught my eye. The front patio is just lovely and was great for hanging out with friends or doing some remote work and grabbing a coffee or tea. They also had a full menu of savory options, I will be back to try one of those next time. What a little gem of a spot! Great work Foliepops, definitely a must try in the Austin area :

Unique and tasty, there certainly is no place like this in Austin. I came here after learning of a french pasty inspired place opening up. When I entered Adrian greeted me and was very friendly, really the whole staff was great and guided me through the whole experience. You can choose between sweet or savory kinds of pastries with various assortments of combinations. All these pastries are French Inspired , something very different that I haven 't really seen before, so adds a bit of flair and personality to the whole experience. On the inside the shop is very quaint with a nice little chalk mural as well as a nice patio to sit out in front of the bee cave public library. I ended up ordering one sweet and one savory item. The sweet pastry, simply dubbed The Foliepop 's Pastry , is pretty cool. What you have to do is break the shell of the pop you 've selected and then cream will ooze into the pasty base you 've selected. I chose a combo of vanilla and chocolate, which the staff is more than happy to help you with. The savory pastry I chose was a pulled pork with cheese. Filling and appropriate for Texas with a nice cultural flair. Overall I highly recommend this place if you 're looking for a bit of a different kind of dessert experience. The great thing is that prices are pretty comparable to most dessert stations and on top of that this comes with unique flair and an interesting history. I 'd revisit again just to try some other combinations.

This place has become a weekend trip for me. I only arrived in Austin 17 days ago and I've been here 3x!!! It's hard to explain...the different textures in this very simple and fun dessert makes the experience of eating it so special. Just a nice afternoon dessert with some coffee, located in the Galleria you can do some shopping and stop by here for desserts.

It's ok .. but not authentic. Cute place. Not a big fan of the concept. Coffee was good.

As cool as FoliePops sounds, our experience was kinda underwhelming. At a high price of $15, we ordered a trio of ChouPops and one of their signature savory FoliePops. I thought about getting a coffee but couldn't bear to add another $5 to our tab (esp with a much cheaper alternative right across the street). The in-store electronic ordering system was p legit but I lowkey prefer the more personal touch of interacting with a staff member. The ChouPops, despite its name, were completely lacking in the crispy texture that one would expect from choux pastry. All three were moist and soggy to the touch, like they'd been sitting in the fridge for a while, and looked nothing like the menu photos. The savory FoliePop was more enjoyable. We tried the croissant, brisket, cheese combo and, while the flavors were pretty good, I couldn't help but think it tasted like something out of HEB's frozen aisle... I'm not sure I would actively choose FoliePops over other nearby dessert places but it's certainly worth a try if you're curious about their creative treats!
