Bidrage med feedbackWe didn't have a meal at this restaurant as we visited early in the morning, but we did enjoy a delicious cup of coffee. The restaurant is located in a charming, secluded area that is off the beaten track. We were intrigued by the history of the house and its connection to Lucy Maud Montgomery. The owners were friendly and accommodating, giving us a tour of the property. Their passion and meticulous attention to detail were evident. They shared with us stories about the small school that Lucy Maud Montgomery had taught at while staying in the house, which is now a museum. Unfortunately, the museum was closed on the day of our visit.
A group of fans of Maud Montgomery dined at the restaurant on Saturday. The staff were very friendly and nice. The food was delicious and satisfying! We especially enjoyed the grilled cheese with cranberry and bacon - a unique combination. The salad that came with it was also very good. One person in our group tried the raspberry cordial cake, which was absolutely divine. It was so tasty that even someone who doesn't usually like cake couldn't resist it. The coffee was also fantastic. Overall, our experience at the restaurant was unforgettable thanks to the amazing food.
The owner and staff are friendly, the food, tea and desserts are delicious and the atmosphere is distinctive. Being an LM Montgomery fan, I enjoyed seeing the house where she lived while teaching at the school just down the road, including her room. Nice to see the house cared for and used. The food is somewhat pricey compared to similar places.
Firstly, great food. A tight, focused menu that celebrates some local ingredients. Charming service. Importantly, a setting (historic house recently restored) that is part of the dining experience. This is what eating out while visiting a new place is all about.
The dinner was fantastic. Three of us ordered the Mediterranean pasta with scallops and shrimp, which was excellent. The pasta was cooked perfectly and tossed in a light oil dressing, with plenty of flavorful seafood. One person in our group ordered chili, which was not as spicy as expected but still tasty. For dessert, we were served in teacups, which was a delightful touch. The service was friendly and efficient. We had a pleasant chat with the owner after our meal. Though the restaurant may be a bit out of the way, it is definitely worth the trip for the great food, service, and reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
