Bidrage med feedbackMy wife and I are back on a hike with two friends, this time around Kaster at Bedburg. The way from Alt-Kaster, a medieval fortified city, to Bedburg is behind us when I ask in Bedburg near the castle to the round whether we want coffee drinks. I want a cup of coffee, that's the opinion of the round. The search for a suitable place is short. We stand in front of the Hotel Bedburger Mühle and have already seen the inviting and sun terrace of a restaurant in the Alte Erft during the circle of the Castle Bedburg. It is the terrace of Bella Vista, the restaurant at Hotel Bedburger Mühle. Bella Vista at Hotel Bedburger Mühle In the bright sun of a golden October day we take place on the terrace after a very friendly and attentive young man has received us and has joined three four tables for us six. On his question what we wish, we ask for cake. Unfortunately, there are only apple sprouts. So the choice in the round is simple, five of us six choose the apple sprout cake (3,20 €). A walking nurse chooses cappuccino as a drink, the others take coffee (2.70 €). The young man serves us coffee and apple throw, not only one piece on each plate, but two. Coffee On the plate, cocoa powder frames the silhouette of a spoon and a fork – a striking and pleasant decoration. The apple cake is a masterpiece. On a loose yeast dough an exceptionally high layer of apple compaction, mixed with few raisins and relatively many apple pieces that still bite, crowned by crispy sprinkles. Everyone at the table is thrilled with this fruit cake. You couldn't have done anything better with coffee drinks. When we pay, we praise the delicious cake and ask if he was made himself. The young man refers to the bakery. Strengthened and satisfied we break to the rest of the hike.
After the wedding, we took our guests to the Bedburger Mühle. Unfortunately, our expectations (and the promises of the owner) were not met. Salad and dessert was good, but beef at the main dish was tough, dry and only lukewarm. The rest tasted so lala. The very dedicated service employee immediately complained in the kitchen, and as compensation there was something called pork fillet. Without sauce and not what I understand under fillet. All in all, a great disappointment for nearly 30 euros per person. However, the coronation came a few days later in response to my complaint: By e-mail, I was told by the junior owner, it was certainly only about complaints from individual guests, and all other guests would have declared themselves quasi solidarity, one already knows that. I like that: First to bring bad performance and then to anoint his guests. Luckily there are enough gastronomic alternatives, but the wedding party was in the bucket.
