Miramare Italiano - Beaufort

The dinner service and Sunday brunch at Miramare are exceptional! The Italian cuisine, created by a genuine Italian chef, is outstanding. The brunch is so delicious that even someone from the South would crave more. The friendly and informed staff, along with the cozy and lively atmosphere, set Miramare apart from other restaurants in Charleston or Savannah. It is a must-visit when in Beaufort, SC.

The meal was fantastic, with excellent service and delicious food. As others have mentioned, the restaurant was quite loud, but this is typical for a busy weekend night. The meal did take a while, but it is clearly stated on their website that dining could take 2+ hours. Italians have mastered the slow food movement, and I personally enjoy long meals with good friends and engaging conversation. Those who complain should learn to relax, take their time, and appreciate the experience of dining and socializing. I will definitely return.

To celebrate our anniversary, my partner and I dined at this restaurant. The steak tartare and drinks were excellent. We decided to order the Miramare seafood presentation for two, which came with salads. The Caesar salad was just average. The main course, although beautifully presented and well cooked, had a disappointing lobster that was overcooked and tough. Despite this, I would be willing to give the restaurant another try.

To find both a unique and outstanding restaurant is a rarity these days. We decided to top off our day in Beaufort with a small side trip to a Habersham restaurant that we had read so many wonderful reviews about. This is one of those eateries where you know you are going to frequent. Walking in the door transports you back to the classic era of Little Italy in New York City. It is complete with the Frank Sinatra songs in the background. Our waiter Jay was constantly attending to our needs even on a busy evening. The menu is classic Italian with many hard to find items on most other menus. The veal Saltimbocca with Gnocchi is just one of the items on this remarkable menu. The food was cooked to perfection and even arrived to the table hot out of the kitchen. This alone is a rarity today (thank you again Jay)! The general manager, Daniel, arrived twice at our table to insure we were completely satisfied with everything. This restaurant is a gem of low country cuisine. Can't wait to back very soon.

Unfortunately this restaurant is having major problems. We waited 2 hours for dinner. The drinks took 40 minutes to arrive and the salads another 35 minutes. The food was just average The martini drinks are very unique. They cone in an individual shaker cup and provide about 2-3 glasses. You?d best have this and enjoy the long) wait.
