Many times I have passed through beardstown Illinois and never once thought about stopping here and that was a mistake. The outside of the building don’t look like much but silly me never judge a book by it’s cover. The star Cafe turns out to be a classic diner serving up all day breakfast and lunch after 10:30 am Note: cash/check only no debit/credit but ATM on site! Family owned and operated establishment, with mom cooking in the back and the daughters running the front! Our server Sara was amazing and is the crown jewel to what made the experience worth it, based on her suggestions I opted for a breakfast omelet and it didn’t disappoint at all! It seems most people go for the breakfast and I will be back for it again the next time I pass through. Or maybe lunch in my future as their burgers looked awesome as well!
