14 Quai Bergeret - Bayonne

Stumbled upon this place by accident. Bright and modern inside views overlooking the river. The food was tasty and homemade. Piping hot and generous portions. Nice heated bread roll too.

This stylish establishment by the river Adour and close the Gare de Bayonne is an epitaph of refined French hospitality. It's only moments away from the Ibis Hotel and suited us perfectly after a day's sightseeing. The welcome was warm, an aperitif was offered (which was a nice gesture) and menu rolled for our perusal (the menu is on a moveable blackboard; environmentally friendly). The Madame was most helpful in explaining the choices, as well as throughout the meal with the delivery of amuse bouche, bread etc, and our selections were cooked perfectly. Great place for a classy dinner. You pay for the quality and service.

Within walking distance of the Ibis hotel, this restaurant was perfect for us. There is a warm welcome from Madame and a mobile board menu of the options for the day. I do like it when you are asked if you require an aperitif. So many restaurants do not bother and you have to catch a waiter's attention to get served. The wine list is not extensive but good and reasonably priced as was the food. We would definitely eat here again if in Bayonne.

Both the service and the food are exellent. The ingredients were prepared in a total different way than I am used to and it was a very pleasant surprise. Pure food, prepared by a cook who knows what he is doing.. The combination of tasts is just great. And the food is served by a woman who about food and explains in a pleasant way, without being patronizing. The restaurant is spacious, and overlooks the river.

Perfect place, away from the crowd but with splendid view on bayonne, the teenager, the bridge of the Holy Spirit and the alleys bouflers, room and well modernized kitchen, very clean. prices more than reasonable for a constantly renewed menu and dish of the day, fresh and local products (viandes, excepional fish) and desserts of the day always remarkable. What a talent! extra and cheap wine. very fast service.For us, the best bayonne restaurant! florence and praise
