San Jose Authentic Mexican

This place is much better than El Cabrito, and I won't be returning there again. I would give it 4 stars as the best Mexican restaurant in Baxter.

I just want to share how incredible the food was. The staff was exceptional too. A special mention goes to the young woman who worked the night shift on August 17, 2016. We had to leave before finishing our meal and asked her to keep our leftovers in our van until we returned. She was more than willing to help, and I'm happy to report that the food was still hot when we got back! Thank you so much!

The food was disappointing, and the service was even less impressive. The servers appeared more concerned with dividing the tips than providing basic courtesy, such as a simple hello or thank you. The beef looked like cat food, and the server initially insisted it was chicken until she realized she had gotten my order wrong. It was truly terrible!

It's decent, but I honestly still prefer El Cabrito. The waitstaff was friendly, though.

The owners are extremely hospitable, and the food is outstanding—you really get great value for your money!
