Bidrage med feedbackThe food and location are great. Really well cooked Sunday roast and the vegetarian option was very high quality. However service let the occasion down for us. The staff member who served us was very helpful and did her best but was either inexperienced or...
Fantastic morning, starting with foraging walk then followed by a cookery class, Excellent walk guided by Martin Bailey who shared his encyclopaedic knowledge of what to pick and what to leave alone when foraging. Back at the cookery school Josh Eggleton showed us how to...
We had a really lovely evening at the Pony to celebrate 3 birthdays. The food was delicious but the evening was made for us by Richard, front of house, who guided us through the tasting menu and was helpful, charming, interesting and made the evening...
What a let down, this was booked well in advance for two family members special birthdays and everyone very much looking forward to it. Correspondence had been great leading up to our visit but a completely different experience once there. Location and views fabulous and...
We saw The Pony on Tom Kerridge and decided to visit whilst on holiday in Somerset. The setting is beautiful. We had a table beside the window which was good because it was a hot day. The trout starter was small and it would have benefited from a small piece of bread however it tasted delicious. Had the beef and the pork for mains and they were both excellent. The vegetables were well cooked, the cabbage was really tasty, the carrots were succulent and the roast potatoes were crispy with fluffy insides. Had cheese and summer fruits for dessert. The cheese was good, especially the ewe’s cheese. I agree with other comments- this place is not cheap however, it’s quality and there are plenty of pub carveries if you are simply looking for quantity. We would definitely come back if we were in the area.
