We explained this to the server who cleared our unfinished coffees, and she just shrugged without comment, apology, explanation or offer of replacement. We had been there before, but never again. I'm sure you won't miss us, nor will you care.Smarten up ladies.
This was our second visit for lunch and the food, plus service were fine and they have both inside and outside tables providing some shade. PJ Barker author of the novel Changing Pillion.
Holly Raye's is a hidden gem in Bassendean with delicious food and great service. During the day you can order delicious healthy breaksfasts and lunches as well as Holly's own homemade cake creations. On Thursday and Friday evenings the cafe morphs into a petite French bistro where Fred the French chef creates delicious and very substantial dishes from his home country. The meals are excellent value for money and beautifully prepared and presented with fresh seasonal produce. The ambience is great too with French music playing in the background. Booking is absolutely essential as it is a small venue and books out quickly. The menu also changes weekly.Highly recommended. We love it so much we're there most weeks :) Bon Appetit!
Heard about this cute place, gave it a go and oh dear I can not find a suitable words to describe it.Luv luv luv that's all I can say.Highly recommended to everyone.
Ms FFD (fave fellow diner) convinced me to try this. Took along the mother (mine) on a Sunday. Well, no room to 'swing a cat' [by the way, feline friends need not worry that this expression means cruelty to cats, it's actually about 'cat-o-nine tails', a medieval torture instrument, so nothing to do with cats].Three of us ordered very different things: savoury muffin, porridge, poached eggs and different drinks. The mother - she is in her late 70s and not 100% well in the mind - did complain about 'how long it was all taking' but to be fair to the staff, it was full! Also, one staff member remembered to drop by and offer a small jug of milk 'in case the porridge was a bit too dry'. That gets brownie points from me.The savoury muffin was too big to finish in one sitting so we wrapped half up for later.Planning to visit at another time, only to avoid the crowds. Not far from Old Perth Road. Last 3 words: check it out!
