Bidrage med feedbackThis was recommended by a relative and we spent a couple of hours in this cosy ,warm and friendly coffee shop on a rainy ,wintry day. My poached eggs and bacon were perfect (all day breakfasts) and the staff were wonderful. Best cup of coffee...More
Great service, I was impressed. The food was great. Servings were generous. Would definitely go back and try other items on the menu.
I hadn't caught up with my friend for quite some time. She suggested Hedgehogs in Bassendean. Parking was easy, right outside the cafe on the road. It was a lovely Spring day and we sat outside to enjoy our coffee and delightful savoury muffin. We took our time enjoying our coffee and muffin and though the cafe filled with people for lunch we were not herded away. We took 2 hours to catch up only leaving because we had other commitmentsKeep in mind parking on the road is only 1 hour but the traffic inspector didn't show until we were there over that time. She chalked our tyres and we had left before she returned! Highly recommended.
Bassendean's Old Perth Road now has a number of little cafes and today was my first time at Hedgehogs. Or is that meant to be Hedgehog's? There were a few tables outside on a hot Saturday 'brunch time' - we were there just before 12.Ordered the Smashed Avo which comes with bread and 2 poached eggs and very generous serving of avocado. Yum, double yum and hurrah! Ms FFD (fave fellow diner)'s order came with mushrooms, tomato and poached eggs.Great little find of a place. We will be back!
I must admit that after looking at the menu I was reluctant to visit here. The menu (although extensive) didn't really have anything that would normally interest me, so on this visit I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try something totally different. I ordered the Veggie stack (spinach, cooked mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, crumbled feta, poached eggs and a balsamic dressing on sourdough) I am one of those people that has to mess with perfection and I asked them to leave off the feta. I was incredibly satisfied with my breakfast, it tasted good (I mean really good), looked good and was very healthy. I expected the spinach to be cooked and was very happy when I saw it wasn't. The husband had the master breakfast and couldn't manage to eat it all.I think the only negative to this place is that I found the coffee a little bitter, but that's just my palate.A thoroughly enjoyable breakfast. Our meals came to $45 and consisted of a latte in a cup, a latte in a mug, a master breakfast and the veggie stack.I will go here again.
