Café Huguenin - Basel

Went there again for a long time and were very disappointed. We had to wait forever until we were served. Although the waiters even stood next to our table several times, we were not asked what we would like. The waitress (black gloves) who finally served us was visibly stressed and completely overwhelmed by the well-filled dining room. In between she received support from the buffet and a nice waiter. She wouldn't have made it otherwise. We were already thinking about leaving the restaurant after more than 20 minutes when we were asked what we would like. It was like that for a lot of people. It's a shame for this well-located restaurant. We were also able to watch how the hot drinks were prepared. When we came into the restaurant there was already a hot chocolate on the buffet and was waiting for the waiters to bring it to the guest. A full 20 minutes later it was still there. The Schümli was no longer there. It was then brought to the guest, a pile of misery from what was once an impressive hot chocolate. Usually the waiter is the final check and something like that shouldn't be served anymore. Not if quality and service are important to you. There are a few things that urgently need to be rethought in this restaurant. We won't be coming back any time soon. There are enough places in Basel that are many times better. A pity.

Croissant coffee

At the moment there was no staff, I waited over 20 minutes to order a coffee, the service employee was overwhelmed and then I got up alone without drinking a coffee but was totally angry, my time is also valuable, they should put up a sign outside, longer waiting times for orders would then be Don't go there if you don't have time. Hire more staff

Good place for a coffee cake in the afternoon; although when busy rather noisy

Really nice central cafe restaurant very nice eating reasonable price. beautiful view from above on the market . friendly staff, clean restaurant and clean toilets
