The Speakcheasy - Barrie

The Speakcheasy is one of my favourite spots for a date night or a night with friends. The space is so cozy and their events are always so well done! I have been to Mother's Day tea, scotch tasting, a murder mystery, wine and cheese pairings, a New Years Cheese tasting, a Halloween themed event and others. Be sure to keep your eye on their monthly events, they sell out quickly!

Great vibe! From the moment I arrived, I was warming greeted by staff and that continued throughout the evening. I came in on a Friday night with a girlfriend. Thankfully we had reservations since it was a full house. There was live music which was nice since it wasn't over the top loud that you had to shout to talk. We sat up at the bar and decided to get a cocktail since the cocktail menu was so impressive. They were delicious! We then ordered some food a vegan cheese board and goat/sheep cheese board. It was a lot! I would share one in the future. We got a glass of wine to go with the cheese boards. It made for a great compliment. The bartender, Erica, was really helpful. We noticed an interesting option on the menu absinthe, served with a sugar cube over the glass and had water (you could control) drip onto the sugar to melt it. I was impressed! Overall, an exceptional dining experience. I can't wait to go back when it's warmer out to enjoy the patio. If you enjoy good service, cocktails, wine, or cheese, I'd definitely recommend you check this spot out!

Clean and cozy place. Excellent service. Interesting menus choices, great drinks menu. Their cheese, nuts, fruits, chocolates are all staff and great. Took my team here for annual team building m they offer cheese tasting and wine pairing education for group functions as well.

Oh. My. Goodness. I am RAVING about this place. I went on a mother daughter date with my mum. We got the French Onion Soup, and the Classic Fondue. It was the perfect amount of food and it was incredible. I would also recommend the Speak Mimosa I would recommend making a reservation after 7pm, just to be safe. The waitress was friendly, checked in, but didn't linger. I've been to the Melting Pot before and it does NOT compare. It was priced as expected it's not a fast food restaurant and it's worth every dollar. (Two soups, the classic fondue, two drinks and tips was just shy of $100). I've attached a poorly taken photo we were too excited to eat it to get a picture in time.

Sooooooo good! We were really confused when we realized there were no reviews. Beautiful patio and super cozy inside. Awesome for an intimate date. Cheese from J'adore upstairs is used for the fondues. Fondues were unbelievable. Amazing quality. New favourite place in Barrie. Highly recommend. Servers were very sweet.
