Mei's Daily Food - Barrie

This is the largest Chinese food in Barrie by far, the freshly made dumplings are delicious.

Food was great! We ordered four dishes for 3 people and we finished everything! The beef noodles are a treat as they make their own pasta from flour and make them really chew! We heard that this place is good if you want near authentic Chinese food that is hard to find in Barrie. We ordered dumplings that, as we waited, so I knew this would be a treat and they were where really good! Also the pigs had belly shell on veg., it was also very nice. The atmosphere was simple, plastic chairs... and needs some lightening, but for a lunch place it's okay and the food is really good. Staff are pleasant and willing to please and they also offer regular American cuisine.

The most authentic, freshest Chinese food in Barrie. And Mei is a joy! Make your own noodles and dumplings. The pork and goats and the hot and soup are the favorite of my husband. Mine is the Mabo Tofu. Fragrant, spicy and so satisfying. We didn't know we ever wanted to find a good Chinese restaurant in Barrie until a Chinese student recommended Meis. That's the real deal.

I love this place. After 30 years of life in Asia, we fought to find a local restaurant in Barrie that had authentic Chinese cuisine. Finally, the kitchen that God felt was taking us to Mei's. Mapo tofu had fresh silky tofu, Chiles and many pigs. The green beans are stuffed around the wok to get the taste of the oil and chili, but they keep on a certain crispy. Try the ginger beef and fried rice. Yum! Guotie is made in the place of Mei, which rolls its own dough before it rises. She will customize orders (but ask nicely because she is a treasure).

Wow what great authentic Chinese food. The spicy tripe was really good and really spicy! Also we have eggplant and potatoes and braised pork belly. There were also great! It fed 4 adults including fried rice. We ate all the food before I could take a picture.
