The Golden Gate - Barnard Castle

Delicious, fresh, large portions. not greasy as other chinese ripples. they always come satisfied with my choice. do not take a card, and the decoration has not been updated for decades.

We're touring at home, rather than abroad this year, and eating takeaway instead of eating out. This was the best so far. Roast duck in black bean sauce with pepper for me. A generous portion, with plenty of meat, chunks of tasty vegetable, with a decent zing to it, for a relatively modest price. Sets a high standard.

The Chinese takeaway offers average quality food and does not accept card payments or deliver. However, it is the best option for Chinese dishes in the Barnard Castle area.

I had a great experience at this restaurant, especially with the generous portions of tasty food. I tried the Singapore-style rice vermicelli, and it was delicious. I'm really glad we found this place, as most other restaurants were closed after 3 PM on Sunday, so it definitely satisfied our hunger!
