Had my nieces 21st birthday party there other day and everything was perfect! There was about 14 of us and every single one of us left full and happy. Our server Sierra took good care of us, very sweet and went above and beyond to make sure my niece enjoyed her 21st!! We will definitely be back. Great new fall menu items and a lot of good beers on tap! Thanks for having us!
Everything was AMAZING. From the food, to our waitress. Sierra was our waitress and she was very sweet, attentive, and gave us amazing service. My girl friend and I hadn't been into Taxman in awhile and we got the pretzel and beer cheese for an appetizer and holy cow! SO good and definitely worth the $14. I also had the fish tacos and they were delicious!! The mexican rice was paired perfectly with them and I love that the Blood Orange is back on tap for the time being! It's my favorite. We had a great time. Such a good atmosphere with great food and great service, which made for a perfect sunday! Will definitely be back soon!
Food was fine. However, I substituted asparagus for the huge side of frites and it was extra. I got 5 measly spears of asparagus and somehow that was still an up charge. Seems like a terrible value.
Long time fan of Taxman beer, but it had been quite a while since I ate there. The ambience was fine as always, but hasn't changed or been updated since it first opened. Industrial style is a favorite of mine, but 5+ years without any notable changes made it feel dated. The fake marble counters felt cheap and were worn with scratches and scuffs. The food was good, but while the menu used to be unique and innovative, I found it to be woefully uninspired this time. Unfortunately that was made even worse by the prices. $14 for a large pretzel with beer cheese is fairly outlandish, as was $18 for pulled pork mac n cheese. I have absolutely no issue with paying for great food, but for things so uninspired and unexceptional, I can't justify it. The spicy mustard from the pretzel was overpowered with horseradish, which I like, but it was one note. The mac and cheese was exactly what you'd expect to get anywhere else you order mac and cheese, but not noteworthy. The exception to this was the Mahi Mahi special. Not typically a fan of Mahi Mahi, the delicious but not overpowering glaze made the dish a fresh take on an often overplayed protein. The presentation was elegant, modern, and something that would have been perfectly at home on the menu of a trendy Miami restaurant. But unfortunately, on the whole, I did not feel that this was a worthwhile visit. Other than for the beer, which is constantly changing and always, in my opinion, world class. I wrote this review not to trash Taxman, but in hopes that others agree, and that Taxman returns to that gem of a brewery with an innovative menu and fresh atmosphere that it was when I first visited.
