The Mermaid - Bardez

We had been waiting for our food for a while due to a noisy table that came in, but Katarina sincerely apologized and offered us complimentary homemade garlic bread, which was delicious. The restaurant focuses on quality over quantity, so the portions are not massive and extras come at an additional cost. For example, I ordered the chicken steak with mushroom sauce and had to order cooked vegetables or potatoes separately. The dish came with runner beans and slices of carrots, and it was very tasty. I would have liked a larger portion of potatoes, but I have a big appetite! The restaurant has beautiful chairs with a cozy atmosphere, and the service was exceptional. The waiters were fantastic and Katarina was lovely and welcoming to everyone. Her well-trained dog stays outside the restaurant on a mat, which was adorable. Just two weeks ago in Candolim, we have been traveling for years and the standout dining experience was always at the Mermaid restaurant. The food is delicious and the steaks are the best you will find anywhere. Unlike many restaurants in India, the wine selection is also very good. Make sure to visit Katarina and Banno at the Mermaid.
