Bella Istambul - Barcelona

We made a trip to the restaurant as it was voted the best Turkish on trip advisor and we were very disappointed. It was very limited for vegetarians, I initially wanted the rice in vine leaves but was told that it wasn’t home made, then I wanted a Turkish pizza but they wouldn’t do it without the meat. I ordered the saksuka which was flavourless and had barely any tomato sauce, the rice was equally as bland. The hummus was not provided with the bread as often happens and had a strange after taste. No salad was provided and when I asked to order some I was told that I would have to order a whole dinner size portion. My friends chicken kebab was very salty, very much an anti climax and we wouldn’t return!

Best In town! I have visited a lot Turkish kebab shops, but this was really the best. The food was really delicious and quicly arrived

Trying out Turkish restaurants in Spain is like gambling; you never know what you are going to get in the end. However, this place exceeded our expectations. I am Turkish and I can tell when a Turkish dish is authentic or just a bad representation of döner looking like dish Bella Istambul has the most authentic Turkish food I have ever eaten in Spain. The place was beautifully decorated, the playlist was Turkish Pop Hits, the food was just amazing! We tried Iskender Kebap, Sarma Yumurtalı Kıymalı Pide (Pide with Minced Meat and Egg) and all were absolutely delicious. I wish that more authentic Turkish restaurants like this were spread around in Spain instead of bad döner buffets that have nothing to do with authentic Turkish food.

La comida estaba muy buena. Lo único a mejorar es el pan, que en vez de ser pan pita es un brioche.
