Apartahotel Pontevedra - Barahona

Beautiful small cottages, large beach and pool. had a nice stay.

Correct name is: Hotel Pontevedra. Old cottage hotel complex in a very scenic location in the Southwest of the Dominican Republic which has not yet fallen victim to mass tourism. Knowledge of Spanish or an offline dictionary is essential. The food is excellent! The rooms are dark, very simple and relatively clean, at times smell a bit moist but can usually be aired out. Very quiet. The pool and restaurant is right next to the sea with a magnificent view. Getting up early to watch the sunrise is well worth it. The beach is a pebble beach, good swimmers can safely swim.

While the place is really pretty with swimming pools in front of the ocean and the parking is accessible I can not rate it better than 2 stars and this is why..... lack of security, very low attention to details and customers service, not to mention the prices jump up to double from time to time, I would say it's a place with a lot of potential but it needs some improvements.

HORRIBLE STAY FAR AWAY THE WINDOWS DONT LOCK , NO HOT WATER , NO WIFI NOR SERVICE , EXPIRED JUICES SERVED AT THE BAR. WE REQUESTED ARE MONEY BACK AND LEFT WILL NEVER VISIT AGAIN !!!!
