Island Gate - Bantry

I stopped by for a quick bite and ordered the Buffalo chicken wings from the appetizer menu. What arrived was a bowl with only SIX small wings that were overly fried and cost a steep $8.95. It seems like this restaurant is trying to recoup their losses from Covid by overcharging. This place definitely prioritizes profit over customer satisfaction.

This is a Cork classic for travellers on the old main road to Youghal Waterford. Now a bypass avoids it, which makes it quieter. Good selection of Carvery and other lunchtime favourites which is when I visited it . Swift service and great staff. Out of the City so free ample parking, put it in your Sat Nav to find it as bypass gets in the way. A living eatery of Cork with proven reputation.

Had lunch here on our way home from holidays. I had never eaten here before! It Was never somewhere I thought of. Have to say it was a lovely experience. Two lovely waitresses working, they were lovely to deal with. We both had roast beef, being honest beef was a little tough but still enjoyable. Had baileys cheese cake for desert which was Devine! Hope the place starts to get some more notice! I will definitely be back as I found it very child friendly.

Very good value for money and the deserts were tasty. Highly Recommended. I went for the roast chicken ham with mash and it was delicious.

Dined here recently after a long absence!! a bit dated. Food excellent quality and hot. Could be a great place if it was up dated but a present a bit dull and dreary looking.
